Just southeast of the continental divide of the Andes mountains, sits one of the first towns in the orient, Palanda. It is a sizeable town with a bank, restaurants, stores, fresh fruit stands, and a friendly, kind local community. 

 

The area offers people the ability to have beautiful sunny weather mixed in with year-round rain, and a lot of it. The area is always lush and green because of the amount of equal sun and rain. The temperatures can be in the mid-80s F (mid-20s C), meaning you can grow all of the best tropical fruits like pineapples and mangos. Since the area has the perfect mix of sun and rain, the soil is very rich due to the dynamics of the area. It is a beautiful place with lots of water. Not to mention exotic wildlife!

 

Because of these characteristics, this is an area that people like to move to in order to set up off-grid self-sustainable communities and to just have a property where they can grow food and/or have a vacation home. The options are limitless! 

 

In and around Palanda there are amazing big rivers that are gorgeous. Additionally, there are hiking and tourist activities.
