Making A Change (Courage)

It is so easy to be afraid. So easy to ask and worry about all the ‘what ifs.’ What if I don’t have enough money, what if I lose my health insurance, what if I don’t succeed, what will people think, and on and on.

These are life’s traps.

They are things that get in the way of us following our path. They often keep us on the treadmill, stuck. So debilitating.

For anyone considering relocating to, or investing in a foreign country you’re going to have your fair share of concerns and plenty of folks questioning the efficacy of your ideas.

I don’t know anyone who has moved here who hasn’t faced that.

And it can be daunting. Change is scary. Especially if you are trading security for adventure.

So the question to ask is, am I supposed to do this? Your heart knows the answer to that. And it knows it unequivocally. Your mind may play tricks on you and your friends and family may try and influence you, but your heart knows.

Studies show the number one regret of the dying is not anything they did, but the things they wanted to do but didn’t.

Too many trade their dreams for some security and/or acceptance.

Now, is picking up and moving to Latin America for everyone? No. In fact I would say it is not for most. It’s such a difference – new culture, new language, new food, new ways of doing business and socializing. Not for everyone.

So you have to be ready for that change.

However.

If this is part of your journey, if that piece of beautiful land with a stream running through it, where you can grow food and perhaps raise your kids is what your dreaming of, let the doubts go, ignore the people trying to keep you from leaving their world, and make the move!

If you're anything like me, you will certainly not regret it!
